Community Farm Committee Reviews Haunted Walk

The Community Farm Advisory Committee met Wednesday night November 17, 2021 in a new meeting spot. The Committee used a brand-new conference space built on the upper level of the Town Hall.  (The former “Pinecrest” room in the lower Town Hall now serves as the Human Resources department office.)

This summer’s rainy, wet, and continuous moisture followed the Advisory Board right up until the Haunted Walk scheduled for October 29th. With a months’ worth of setting up scare sights, the organizers opted to hold the event a week later November 6th. While dismayed by the postponement, organizers were heartened by those who did show up a week later to celebrate the occasion.

For the next event the advisory board will be joining the Friends of the Community Farm for a gala New Year’s Eve celebration. Kicking off after the popular New Year’s Eve walk on the rail trail, this event will feature a band (the Big Chief’s) chili with meat and vegetarian, hot cider and a huge bonfire.

Tickets $10 each or $45 per family will be coming soon and available online as well as at the Superette. Proceeds will help the committee bring electricity from the farmhouse to the greenhouse.
