Holliston Lions Closet Cleanout

The Holliston Lions Club is seeking your assistance! This year, we’re donating funds to Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) for various disaster relief assistance. To do this, we’re collecting your unused clothing in any condition to donate to Savers. Savers will pay us by the pound for the clothing and all funds raised will go to LCIF.

We’re looking for gently used coats — all winter coats for men, women and children will be accepted. We would ask you put these in a separate bag from any clothing donations and clearly mark the bag as “coats”. Please no coats with broken zippers or tears – these will be delivered to Anton’s Cleaners and distributed to those in need across the Commonwealth.

We’ll also be collecting your loose change/pennies for Pennies for Sight for Mass Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc. (MLERF) which is a 501(c)(3) Lions Corporation. The funds we raise for this goes to support research efforts by researchers right here in Massachusetts. You can see a list of the facilities where these funds are distributed at the MLERF website.

Finally, we’re looking for can tabs (yes, the little ring on the top of soda and soup cans!) for our LEO Club. These tabs are donated to Ronald MacDonald House and the funds they get from recycling them are used to ensure families do not have to pay more than $10 per night for housing while their children are hospitalized. Many families pay nothing, the funds raised are used to offset the cost of the house.

Here are the details:

  • We’ll be at the Holliston Senior Center on November 13 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
  • Simply come by and drop off your donations and we’ll take care of the rest!

As always, we thank you for your ongoing support and for this project, we thank you in advance!!

Doreen Martel
