Highlights of Winter’s Beauty in Holliston

Typically, I don’t think of a story as I find an image to capture through my camera lens. I see something and it makes my “trigger happy fingers” try to catch it forever within its frame – to revisit from time to time.

The hues of the setting sun made for a cold but rosy panorama.

Frozen in time. The aftereffects of the ice storm—the wonderful way Nature preserves. Our garden rose.

Parka People. Our first year here, and we were welcomed with over 2 feet of snow. The kids had to experience it, and I had to capture that moment in time.

Winter. Ice. Nature can be deadly and damaging. However, some sights it creates are so beautiful. Like this one of frozen berries as we went for a winter walk.

A walk into the unknown? Our very first walk on the rail trail after a heavy snowfall. The stark white on the branches – like icings in Nature.

Porch swing. One day soon this will be moving again—with people sitting and enjoying the outdoors. For now, white and light snow sits “frozen” and still.

Diamonds in the sky —through the looking glass.  The snowstorm and the freezing rain that followed left ice sparkling like diamonds on the branches. The sky was clear and blue – and the effect was magical… Glistening against the clear blue sky beyond…

Ice bells on Evergreen. The fight between the cold and the warming sun created this image. Each branch enveloped with an “icy hug”…slowly melting away.

A new day dawns. The forest and wetlands awakening after a snowstorm – there is brightness ahead.

There is so much beauty around us.  We tend to miss small things. So, stop. Look. Smile. Enjoy the moment. It is never the same—even in the very next moment.
