Helen K. Graham at 86

Helen K. Graham, 86, of Holliston, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born in Lykens, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Begani) and Edward J. Kolvick. She was the beloved wife of William J. Graham for more than 66 years, and they resided together in Holliston, Massachusetts.

Helen graduated from Lykens High School and attended Strayer’s Business College in Washington, DC.  A strong believer in education, she later worked as an administrative assistant at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and at Wellesley College in Massachusetts for more than 20 years. Helen was an avid gardener who served on landscaping committees and was known for planting flowers and beautifying numerous communities where she lived.  She loved to play bridge along with her husband, and they both were excellent dancers.  She was an avid reader of Victorian novels and nonfiction biographies, instilling that love of reading, dancing, and music in her daughters and grandchildren.

Helen had a great sense of style and enjoyed interior design and decorating.  Ahead of her time in fitness, she worked out to videos and loved to walk. She even kept weights in her kitchen to exercise in between cooking meals. She was a huge fan of the New England Patriots, watching games every Sunday. She enjoyed debating politics. Most importantly, Helen loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Helen is survived by two daughters, Melissa Graham-Morris and her husband, Robert of Arvada, CO, and Colleen Suereth and her husband, Eric of Millis, MA. She leaves behind grandchildren, including William and Samuel Morris and Lindsay Suereth, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was the youngest of six daughters. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eugenia Merrick, Margaret Hoffman, Geraldine “Pat” Daniels, Dorothy Miller, and Rosemary Matter.

A funeral Mass will be held in her memory on Friday, November 4th at 9:00 am. at Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
