Kenneth Martin Wingert

Kenneth Martin Wingert, 59, of Grand Island NY, passed away on January 29, 2026 with his sons and former wife by his side. Born in Framingham, Mass, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Connor) Wingert.

Ken attended the Holliston school system and graduated in 1984. He enjoyed hockey and played in the Holliston Youth Hockey Organization in his early years. Ken also had a love for tractor trailer trucks and had dreamt of a career driving a Kenworth. His curiosity to fix things led him to tinker with bikes, lawnmowers, and other power equipment. Although not a certified auto mechanic, Ken could diagnose and fix most any issue with automobiles and once swapped the front end of one truck for another in his driveway with hand tools in an afternoon. He was always interested in mechanics and would help others at a moment’s notice. Ken worked for General Motors and retired in 2020. He loved the outdoors and would often go RV’ing with family members. He was also an avid fan of Boston sports teams, and was always wearing the colors of the Red Sox, Patriots, or Bruins! He had a great sense of humor, and that never waned, even throughout his illness.

Ken is survived by two sons, Kevin of Jacksonville, Florida, and Tyler of Orwell, Ohio, and his former wife, Andrea of St. Augustine, Florida, who all cared for him during his illness. He also leaves behind two brothers, Richard and his wife Liz of Grand Island, NY, and Edward and his wife Elizabeth of Bellingham, Mass, as well as many nieces and grandchildren.

Ken was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston.
