An Era Draws to a Close

The farm was established in 1982 by Peter and Helen MacArthur and became a beloved staple of the local community, operating 12 greenhouses and cultivating a variety of vegetables, flowers, and potted plants.

MacArthur Farm was most famous for its award-winning tomatoes; Peter MacArthur, affectionately known as Holliston’s “Tomato King,” consistently won or placed in the top three spots at the annual Massachusetts Tomato Contest from 2004 onward. The farm ceased operations in January of 2026.
