The Blair Square Committee invites the Holliston community to a Public Forum on Wednesday, Feb 3rd at 7pm to share the results of our master planning efforts and to gather the public’s feedback into this re-envisioned civic space. We will share the master plan and perspective views, describe the proposed site features, answer questions, and listen to public feedback. About Blair Square:
As re-envisioned by the Blair Square Committee, the redeveloped Blair Square will be a Town Common for Holliston, providing open, green space for civic events, entertainment, and recreation while allowing the Rail Trail to safely pass through. Its design welcomes multiple uses: from an individual having lunch to larger groups enjoying performances to a weekend farmer’s market – and everything in between. We anticipate that Blair Square will become a rest-stop for visitors arriving via the Rail Trail who will be introduced to our town and its businesses through informational and directional signage.
Features of the design include:
- A relocated Rail Trail
- Event space & green space with both a large, open lawn and a paved plaza
- Versatile seating for groups up to 100
- Covered pavilion to accommodate both picnic seating and performances
- Veteran’s Memorial & flagpole to honor our Veterans
- Parking
Blair Square is the hub of the Upper Charles Rail Trail in downtown Holliston. It is located on Central Street, between Railroad and Front Streets.
