When Holliston resident Stephanie Vail’s son was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2019, she turned her heartache into hope.

Committed to aiding cancer warriors, Stephanie joined Dana-Farber’s Nursing and Patient Care Services team, providing unwavering support to those battling the disease, including beloved Celtics executive, Heather Walker. Extending her impact, Stephanie registered to participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge in 2022 and has since raised over $500,000 in support of pediatric brain tumor research with ‘Team Brainstorms.’

For transforming her personal experience into powerful efforts to combat cancer, Stephanie Vail was honored as a Hero Among Us during the Boston Celtics home game against the Houston Rockets on Monday, January 27, 2025.
