Bugs Flanagan passed away peacefully on September 3, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at Milford Hospital. Born in Derby, Connecticut, Bugs grew up in Wellesley, attending Wellesley schools before ultimately making Holliston his home for the past 30 years. He built a successful career as a self-employed professional in the construction field.
He was the beloved son of the late Barbara (Meagher) and Paul Flanagan. Bugs is survived by his siblings: Shawn Flanagan and his wife Melanie of Laconia, NH; Colleen Garabedian and Steve Lafko of West Newton, MA; Erin Prescott of Webster, MA; and Bridie Smith of Montana. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him, along with countless close friends, including Big Pete Galliher, Larry McDonald, Buddha Teedesco, Kyle Lupian, Dave and Rob Oteri, and his beloved and faithful dog, Wilma.
Bugs was known for his big personality and heart of gold. He had a passion for exotic pets, enjoyed vinyl nights with friends, watching golf, cruising in his dune buggy, and woodworking. His sharp fashion sense was as unique as his character. With his quick wit, sense of humor, and endless stories, jokes, and wisecracks, Bugs could light up any room.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
