HOLLISTON – At the December 23, 2024 meeting of the Select Board, Fire Chief Michael Cassidy presented the board with a Community Risk Reduction award from Corporate Vision. The 2024 Health & Safety awards highlight the exemplary practices, innovations, and contributions that have made a positive impact on workplace safety, public health, and environmental well-being. The summary of the award, recently published (https://www.corporatevision-news.com/issues/health-and-safety-awards-2024/6/) draws attention to the work of multiple town departments and the leadership of town officials in efforts to keep the community safe and healthy.
Chief Cassidy explained to the board that Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is the identification and prioritization of risks followed by the coordinated application of resources to minimize the probability or occurrence and/or impact of unfortunate events.
