Eileen Fahey

Eileen Frances McCarthy Fahey, 89, of Ashland, formerly of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Nellie (Wlodyka) McCarthy. She was born with her late twin sister, Justine Lastoria. She was the adored wife of the late William “Bill” Fahey, to whom she was married for 36 years.

Eileen was raised and educated in Arlington and Cambridge, MA. She attended Catholic school and then went on to Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. After her schooling, Eileen and Justine were employed at Harvard University, which they took pride in.

Eileen and Bill met and enjoyed spending time together in Boston and on the Cape with friends before settling down in Holliston, where they raised their family of six. Over the years, Eileen worked in various roles, including as a bookkeeper and an administrator in a veterinarian’s office. However, she truly found her passion at TJMaxx, where she worked at the service desk well into her 80s. Eileen loved shopping, meeting people, and everything related to fashion, making her job a perfect fit with wonderful colleagues and friends.

Eileen was warm, caring, and full of laughter and joy. She appreciated everything and didn’t want for much. Good times with friends and family were all she needed.

Eileen is survived by four children, Susan M. Kendrick and her husband, David, of Auburn, Michael W. Fahey and his late wife, Cristina, of Centerville, Jennifer Stein and her husband, Stephen of Westwood, William (Liam) Fahey of Framingham.

Eileen was a fun-loving grandmother, affectionately known by many names, including Goldie, Grammy, and Gram. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Leah Kendrick, Daniel Kendrick, Douglas Stein and fiancée, Rose McKernon, of Medfield, Danielle Stein of NY, Nicole Fahey of Marlboro, Kristin DeChaves and husband, Justin, of Framingham, Lexi Fahey and fiancé, Brendan Gates, of Natick. She is also blessed with five great-grandchildren: twins Mia and Shay Stein, Vinny, Adrian, and Tessa DeChaves, as well as Ellie and Ruby. She is predeceased by her brother, Gregory McCarthy.
