Haunted Walk on Tap at Community Farm

Holiston Reporter

Community Farm Advisory Board members met in person Wednesday night September 29th at town hall.

After a short hiatus due to the pandemic, chairperson Kris Westland announced that popular Haunted Walk is back. Securing Select Board approval and a few staffing issues are all that remain for the ghosts and goblins to take their places at the Rogers Road farm on Saturday October 30th from 5 pm to 10 pm.

Progress has been made on the installation of a heating system (above) at the farm’s greenhouse thanks to a donation by the American Legion Downtown Marigold Project.

A large overhead door has also been installed on the greenhouse as part of the project. Plumbing and electrical work remain to get the heating system up and running. Plans are in the works to grow annuals for next spring to be planted by the Marigold Project around town.

Plans are also in the works for a December 31st event at the farm. A bonfire event was suggested to be held after the Friends of Holliston Trails popular First Night Walk. Fire Chief Mike Cassidy is researching the rules regarding bonfires.

The next meeting of the board will take place on October 7th.
