Holiday Lights on the Radar

The Lions Club holiday lighting program began almost three decades ago by Concord Street resident Chuck Baker. Over time Mark Ahronian, Mike Tyman and Ed Daniels have had a stab at putting a little color into the downtown area at Christmas time. For the past several years Lion, Steve Apesos has carried the mantle of “getting her done”.

This year while taking down the lights in front of the library the strings fell apart. Back to the drawing board.

This year the pavilion at Blair Square will sport a 5 x 5 large wreath. The hanging of lights will begin on November 22nd. All should be ready for the Annual Holiday Stroll (small business Saturday) on November 29th.

A candle light procession will begin in Fiske’s parking lot and arrive at Blair Square at 4:30 p,m A marine will be on hand to receive A check from the Lions club. Carolers will be on hand at Blair Square where 13 Christmas trees will be lit.

Businesses, Organizations, or Individuals can sponsor a tree for $30. Local charities will then be asked to decorate the trees. The sponsors name will be tagged at the top of the tree. Donations can be mailed to the Lions Club, PO Box 6112, Holliston or if you wish to use PayPal, Venmo or a credit card you can use this link.. A huge task ahead for Tyman & Apesos and their elves for adding a huge bounce to the ambience in town.
