HOLLISTON RECEIVES $1M FUNDING FOR FACTORY POND DAM REPAIR

HOLLISTON, Mass. February 6, 2025 – The Select Board is pleased to announce the Town of
Holliston will receive $1M in funding from the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Energy &
Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) for the Woodland Street Bridge & Factory Pond Dam Repair
Project. The Commonwealth’s intent to provide the necessary funding is effective immediately,
and will allow the Town to begin the critical repairs to the dam that have been on hold until the
many permitting processes were completed, but now as a Notice to Proceed (NTP) with the
contractor including a contractual completion date of Sept. 1, 2025. With this announcement the
project will be funded by multiple State sources, including the Small Bridge Repair Program
(MassDOT), the Seawall & Dam Repair Program (EOEEA) and the Fair Share Amendment which
is supplemental to annual Chapter 90 funding.

“We would like to thank Senate President Karen Spilka and Representative James Arena-
DeRosa for their continued support thru this grant process, and to the EOEEA for prioritizing this

project,” said Tina Hein, Chair of the Select Board. “This project is critical for our public safety
response in the area and to those requiring access to the Elementary and Middle Schools, as well
our many local businesses on Woodland Street.”
