Personnel Highlights

  • During the month of November, all department members reviewed Policy 4.06 “Authorized Weapons.”
  • During the month of November, all department members reviewed Policy 4.07 “CORI.”
  • On November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2022, Officer Hulme attended a six-day “MPTC Instructor Development” in Southbridge, MA.
  • On November 1, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson, Detective DiGiorgio, and the Holliston High School Administrative Team interviewed two candidates for the position of School Resource Officer (SRO).
  • On November 2, 2022, Chief Stone attended a department head meeting in the John Johnson training room.
  • On November 2, 2022, Sergeant Belson attended the “4th Annual Faith-Based Organizations Safety & Security Seminar” in Southbridge, MA.
  • On November 2 – 3, 2022, Detective DiGiorgio attended a two-day “Searches and Seizures” training seminar in Franklin, MA.
  • On November 9, 2022, Officer Hannah Ciavarra was selected as the department’s new School Resource Officer (SRO).
  • On November 9 – 10, 2022, SRO Ciavarra attended a two-day “NASRO – Adolescent Mental Health” training seminar in Randolph, MA.
  • On November 9 – 10, 2022, Sergeant Hagan attended a two-day “K-9 Law” training course in Mansfield, MA.
  • On November 10, 2022, Chief Stone and SRO Woods attended a half-day training course entitled “Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG).”
  • On November 16, 2022, Dispatcher Moscillo reached two (2) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On November 16, 2022, Sergeant MacGray attended a one-day “Law Enforcement Mental Health and Suicide Prevention” training course in Southbridge, MA.
  • On November 17, 2022, Chief Stone attended a one-day “Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth (MPY): Threat Assessment Training Conference” in Lexington, MA.
  • On November 18, 2022, Chief Stone held a staff meeting with Lieutenant Thompson, Sergeant Waugh, Sergeant Belson, Sergeant Remkus, Sergeant Hagan, and Sergeant MacGray in the John Johnson training room.
  • On November 21, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson, SRO Woods, and SRO Ciavarra attended a meeting with the Holliston High School Administrative team.
  • On November 21, 2022, Chief Stone and Traffic Safety Officer Grace participated in a Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting in the John Johnson training room.
  • On November 27, 2022, Officer Woods reached nine (9) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On November 28, 2022, Sergeant MacGray and Detective Avey completed his “Electronically Controlled Weapons (ECW) Re-Certification” course in Townsend, MA.
  • On November 28, 2022, Sergeant Remkus reached eight (8) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On November 28, 2022, Chief Stone attended the annual Metro-LEC meeting at Gillette Stadium.
  • On November 29, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson attended a one-day virtual seminar entitled “The POST – Compliant Complaint Investigation.”
  • On November 29, 2022, Officer Alexander Keefe reached one (1) year of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On November 29 – 30, 2022, Detective DiGiorgio attended a two-day “Breaking and Entering Evidence Recovery (BEER)” training seminar in Duxbury, MA.
  • During the month of November, Holliston Police Officers completed their annual “CPR & First Responder” training in Wayland, MA.
  • During the month of November, Sergeant/K-9 Hagan and K-9 Mattis completed their mandatory 16 hours of in-service training with the Boston Police K-9 Unit.

Community Relations

  • On November 7, 2022, several members of the police department participated in the annual “Veterans Day Appreciation Breakfast” at the Holliston Historical Society.
  • On November 9, 2022, Officer Charette and Officer Mustard visited the Holliston Public Library to read books during “Story Hour” time.
  • On November 22, 2022, Chief Stone and Sergeant Belson provided a safety presentation to the leadership team at Holliston’s First Congregational Church.
  • On November 26, 2022, Officer Mustard attended the annual “Tree Lighting Ceremony” at Blair Square.

Upcoming Events

  • November & December 2022 – The Holliston Police Department are actively collecting toys in the front lobby of the police station to help support the United States Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program during this holiday season.

  • December 15, 2022 – Members of the Holliston Police Department will once again be participating in the “Shop with a Cop” holiday event in Framingham, MA.
  • January 5, 2023 – The Holliston Police Department will be teaming up with Boston Children’s Hospital to host a blood drive here at the police station. Please follow HPD social media page for registration information.
