Janice Rita (Long) Caldwell, 87, of Franklin, formerly of Holliston died March 9 at the Accent Care Hospice in Milton following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Caldwell, Sr. who died 2011.
Born in Springfield, August 31, 1934, the daughter of the late Roy G. and Rita T. (King) Long, Mrs. Caldwell was raised and lived in Springfield until moving to Holliston where she lived for 30 years prior to retiring to Florida where she lived until coming to Franklin last year.
Janice had been an administrator for the New England Telephone Company.
She loved to read and follow all the New England sports teams. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends.
She is survived by her children Robert L. Caldwell, Jr. and his wife Kellie of Franklin and Cindy Kardaras and her husband Steve of Franklin.
She is also survived by her sister Marcia Phaneuf and husband Roger of Naples, Florida, her sister-in-law Sally Topitzer of Long Island, NY, and was the sister of the late Roy Long, Jr. and Beverly Parker.
Janice is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Caldwell and his wife Bailey of Lafayette, LA, Dane, Madison and Morgan Caldwell, all of Franklin, her great grandson Nathaniel, twelve nieces and nephews, and her 2 grand dogs, Stefie and Lilly.
Her funeral service will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
