John Clancy Scanlon, 61, of Milford, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Ruth (Clancy) and Thomas Scanlon.
John proudly served the Holliston community as a police officer for 36 years, dedicating his life to public service and the safety of others. Outside of his career, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was also a committed mentor as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 132 in Upton, Massachusetts.
John is survived by his children, Sheridan Riley Scanlon of Denver City, Texas, and Trinity Michael Scanlon of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his siblings: Ann Cummings of Montpelier, Vermont; Barbara Scanlon of Webster, Massachusetts; Molly Carey of Douglas, Massachusetts; and Elizabeth Armstrong of Newport News, Virginia. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Scanlon.
