Saint Mary’s Knights of Columbus is hosting a rally to honor and remember Holliston’s veterans of WWI, II, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. There are 18 signposts on street corners throughout the town and a memorial at Blair Square that go unnoticed and largely forgotten. Let’s change that.
Participants (driver and navigator) pay a registration fee of $20.00 per car to follow directions leading to many memorials, answer trivia questions and questions about the memorials, and record their miles driven to compete for trophies This rally is a miles-driven event (not timed). Compared to the official miles, the miles you drive and your answers to trivia questions will determine the winners (3 trophies). You will receive biographies of the veterans whose signs you locate while following detailed route instructions (between 5 and 12 miles, depending on the route).
Proceeds will benefit Thanks To Yanks, “a non-political 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support military members, veterans, and their families” (http://www.thankstoyanks.org/). Volunteers totally staff TtY.
