The Robert Adams Student Leadership Team (above) expresses our heartfelt thanks to our school administration, teachers and staff, and Mr. Ryan Venditti, our Advisor, for the opportunity to lead a Candy Drive right after Halloween. We are incredibly grateful to our fellow students, the town community, Holliston Senior Center, and Next Generation Martial Arts for encouraging and supporting our efforts by donating heaps of candy.

Senior Center (L) and NGMA (R)

Our goal for this year’s Candy Drive was to put a smile on the faces of children who could not trick or treat due to illnesses or whose parents could not take them trick or treating since they were unwell. The donations were for the children and families supported by the Ronald McDonald House in Providence, Rhode Island.

In addition to having our school as a host site, we reached out to the Senior Center and Next Generation Martial Arts requesting permission to place collection bins at their locations. We were met with kind words of encouragement and overwhelming support.

The bins are ready for delivery to the Ronald McDonald House.

The drive was conducted from October 28 to November 8, and in that time, we collected donations that filled four 16- gallon totes with candy. This year’s Candy Drive was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who contributed to our team effort.

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean!”
