Ronald Plourde

Ronald E. Plourde, 77, of Newton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026. Born on July 2, 1948, in Caribou, Maine, Ron was the oldest son of Emery Plourde and Ruth (Keating) Plourde. Raised in a close-knit family, he embraced early on the values of faith, discipline, and responsibility that would shape the course of his life.

Ron attended parochial high school at the Oblate Seminary in Bucksport, Maine, and continued his religious studies at a seminary in Natick, Massachusetts. He later pursued graduate studies at Boston University, deepening his academic foundation and broadening his perspective.

Ron went on to build a successful career as the owner and operator of Custom Fabric Care in Holliston, Massachusetts. Through dedication, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail, he earned the trust and loyalty of his customers and became a respected member of the local business community.

In his quieter moments, Ron found great satisfaction in tending to his meticulously maintained property, a reflection of his disciplined and thoughtful nature. He enjoyed golf outings with friends, listening to music, and passionately following his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Whether celebrating a big win or debating a close call, he remained a loyal and enthusiastic fan.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Emery and Ruth Plourde, and by two of his younger brothers, Emery Jr. and James. He is survived by his siblings: Robert and wife, Linda Plourde, of West End, North Carolina; John and wife, Alverna Plourde, of West End, North Carolina; Jane Plourde and her husband, Bill Turner, of Winter Haven, Florida, sister in law, Debra (Chapman) Plourde, along with former wife, Lynn Blandin Plourde, of Nashua, NH. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will remember him for his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and thoughtful presence.

The Plourde family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at CareOne of Newton, Massachusetts, along with loving staff at Pathways Nursing for the wonderful care given to their brother.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial arrangements are under the care of Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, MA. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com His family honors his life in private remembrance along with those who’ve loved Ron over the years.
