Ten people displaced at Mission Springs

Fire crews responded to Mission Springs, 100 Summer Street early Monday afternoon for a report of a fire alarm sounding. The alarm may have been triggered by burnt stove top cooking.

The alarm set off the buildings sprinkler system and flooded a number of apartments. Sherborn’s Car 1, Medway’s Car 1 and 2 along with an engine company provided mutual aid at the scene. All of Hollistron’s apparatus responded.

The health department as well as the town’s building  inspector were on scene. At least one person was taken to Milford Regional Hospital for smoke inhalation. Ten people were displaced by the flooding. The last engine to leave the scene was Metcalf’s Engine #4 at 4:53 pm
