Wesley John Fjeldheim II died on September 29, 2024. He was pre-deceased by his parents Wesley and Diane Fjeldheim of Waterville, Maine.
Over the course of 77 years, John was a husband, father, Jidu, brother, outdoorsman, engineer, artist, and so much more. He was a true renaissance man. John was an alumnus of Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. An accomplished civil engineer, with a PE in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, he analyzed bridges for structural integrity and mastered cuts to complete stunning stain glass projects. No challenge daunted him. John turned a diamond in the rough into an expression of love – and built a home for his family to gather in. He completed a multi-dormer shed and rallied neighbors and friends to help raise it. He taught by example. His advice was sought by many to help solve problems, and he always showed up with generous expertise. He leaves behind his wife Julie of 37 years, daughters Heidi and Emily, son Wesley, son-in-law Chris, and granddaughters Gwyneth and Addlyn. His legacy includes four siblings: Penny, Barbra, Terry, and Kimberly. John’s family stretched far and wide, including the Davies, Hobsons, Snyders, and Thompsons. His influence and fingerprint will be remembered fondly and cherished forever by many.
A funeral mass will be held on October 11th, at St Mary’s Church in Holliston, Massachusetts at 11am. Followed by a celebration at 1226 Washington Street. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider donating to BeLoved Asheville for Hurricane Helene relief, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
