In a late afternoon meeting on Tuesday, the Governance Committee (GC) interviewed Holliston’s Finance Team – Sharon Emerick, Accountant, Kathryn Peirce, Principal Assessor, and Mary Bousquet, Treasurer-Collector, with an assist from Tyler Ahern, Town Administrator, to learn more about the town’s Finance and Fiscal Procedures.
With many of our communities, including the four towns in the 8th Middlesex District, seeing low rates of new COVID-19 infections and the statewide positive test rate sinking below 1 percent, our statewide pandemic response efforts have been tailored toward targeting the areas where transmission remains far higher than the statewide average.
Along with the medical calls HFD handled during this reporting period, they responded to an overnight animal rescue.
As we enter the second week of September, preparations continue for the return of K-12 students to our public schools. Normally, students would already be back in class, but due to COVID-19 and related preparations for our schools’ “new normal,” all four of our towns will welcome students back next week, with Westborough beginning on 9/15 and Holliston, Hopkinton, and Southborough beginning on 9/16.
Colantonio Inc., a Holliston-based general contractor and construction management firm, announced that Mystic Water Works has been selected by Preservation Massachusetts to receive the Thomas M. Menino Legacy Award.
