37 Fire Service Leaders to Graduate

Chiefs and Rising Officers Represent Communities Across Massachusetts

STOW—State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy leadership will honor more than three dozen fire chiefs and senior officers this week after they completed a rigorous management training program for fire service leaders.

The four-month Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program is delivered jointly by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and the University of Massachusetts Edward J. Collins Jr. Center for Public Management. The members of this year’s class represent the fire departments of Acton, Bellingham, Bondsville, Boylston, Braintree, Bridgewater, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills, Chelmsford, Edgartown, Fitchburg, Framingham, Franklin, Georgetown, Holden, Holliston, Hudson, Lexington, Longmeadow, Marlborough, Medford, Nahant, Newbury, Plainville, Plymouth, Reading, Rutland, Seekonk, South Hadley Fire District 2, Springfield, Sutton, Three Rivers, Tisbury, Turners Falls, Webster, Westborough, Westwood, and Wilbraham.

The ceremony will be posted to the Department of Fire Services’ YouTube channel following its conclusion.

The MFA provides recruit and in-service training at three separate campuses for Massachusetts firefighters and delivers courses to upward of 13,000 students at every level of the fire service each year.
