Bring your love of music and community to the Holliston Historical Society from 7:00-8:00 PM on Friday evening, July 25 (Rain or shine, since we will be singing in the barn)!
We’re delighted to welcome back musician Roger Tincknell as our song-leader for the evening. Roger has been making music with children, families, and seniors in the U.S., Canada, and Europe for over 45 years. His strong, expressive vocal styles and masterful instrumental skills—on guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and percussion—bring a warmth and versatility to his music.
You are invited to bring a picnic supper beginning at 6:00 PM. The Historical Society will be selling soft drinks and ice cream treats until 6:45. There will be seating in the barn, and you are welcome to bring lawn blankets or chairs, if you wish.
Community Sings are a great tradition in the United States and around the world. They’re not concerts—everyone shares in the music-making and no experience or special talent is required! We hope many of the tunes will be familiar (patriotic, summertime, country, kids, and folk are some of the types we have in mind), and we plan to have the lyrics available.
So, let’s raise our spirits and sweeten our sense of community by singing together! We are grateful that this program is funded in part by a grant from the Holliston Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Come enjoy making music on a summer evening. It is free and open to all!
