When rain canceled the Haunted Walk at the Holliston Community Farm this past October, organizers moved the event to the following week. While not quite the same as on the celebrated date, organizers were pleased that their efforts were supported residents.
With another event scheduled for Friday night December 31st, farm organizers have met up with Murphy’s Law. “Anything that can go wrong will and often does”. The Big Chief Band slated to play Friday night have called in sick. One member has contracted Covid-19 and another is feeling sick.
While New Delhi, Paris, and Rome have canceled their New Year’s Celebration due to Covid-19 concerns, Holliston like Chicago, Las Vegas, and Sydney say the show must go on. Holliston’s Plan B is in the works with the band loaning the Friends of the Community Farm their P.A. System which will play recorded music.
“It’s not what we had hoped for, but I think folks will understand,” said Kris Westland, Chairperson of the Community Farm Advisory Board.
The event is scheduled to take place at the 34 Rogers Road property at 8 pm on Friday December 31st with the bonfire being torched at 9 pm. “At least the chili and cider will be hot, I hope.” quipped Westland.
