Thursday evening, following its Executive Session, the School Committee (SC) reconvened and shared almost an hour of its meeting time with the Governance Committee (GC). Sam Tyler, GC Chair, called the remote session to order at 7:13 PM and reviewed the purpose of this visit.

COVID-19: September 23, 2020 Update from Representative Dykema
Every Wednesday evening, the Commonwealth releases updated town-by-town COVID-19 case numbers in a weekly public health report that can be accessed online. The most recent two weeks of data, on a rolling basis, are used to assign a “risk level” to each community in the Commonwealth based on the “daily incidence rate,” the number of cases per 100,000 reported in each city and town.

One state agency where services have been significantly impacted by COVID-19 has been the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Although the RMV has worked in recent years to automate its services and move as many transactions as possible online, there are still many services that require in-person visits to a service center, including upgrading Massachusetts driver’s licenses to “REAL ID” licenses in compliance with federal law.
