As we enter a new week and a new month, the statewide data we are seeing is slowly beginning to indicate that we are entering a new phase in our COVID-19 response. To better represent our evolving conditions, I have updated the format of our daily chart.

The Annual Town Election has been postponed due to the pandemic. When we do vote, we’ll have options for maintaining a safe distance. Several deadlines and procedures have changed due to special legislation recently enacted.

Each one of us feels the impacts of coronavirus differently. No matter what stage of our lives, the significant change we’re experiencing is unsettling. This is particularly true for young children.

We cannot forget the human faces of this crisis and I wanted to take a moment again today to recognize the unparalleled contributions of frontline workers in our community.

As you know, I do my best to highlight important, up-to-date data in this daily newsletter to provide a fact-based view of the scope and nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. These data often highlight the severity of this crisis, particularly when we think about the thousands of families who have lost a loved one to COVID-19.

At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Shawsheen Valley Technical School Committee selected Holliston Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brad Jackson as its next superintendent pending contract negotiations.
