Fall Events in Holliston at the Taproom!

I know everyone is waiting on my weather forcast; the real reason I write and you open these newsletters, and here it is!  It’s starting to cool off and it’s time to hang out more inside!  Now that we’ve been open a couple months we are starting to learn what we didn’t know we needed to learn, so expect some quality of life upgrades as well.  I’ll talk more about that in a minute!

Quick digression here; if you live in Holliston this is a reminder that town meeting is on Monday, October 20th at 7pm at the high school.  I know its late, its a pain, a lot of us need childcare, etc, but it is really important to go.  Approximately 120 people (less than 1% of the town) shows up each time and makes decisions that affect all of us.  These decisions should be made by more of us so please do your best to show up!

With that out of the way we have some real cool stuff planned!

First off, on our website you can see our Holliston specific calendar of food trucks, musicians, and events.  Check it out here:

Side note: food trucks have a specific parking spot in the lot behind so they will always be parked there!

The FIRST EVER meeting for the Holliston Book Club is on Tuesday the 21st!  Lisa, our staff and culture manager (as well as my sister in law) runs it and they always have a great time!  Everyone is welcome regardless of age, gender, etc.  It is a pretty relaxed atmosphere; while it certainly helps and is encouraged, you don’t need to have the book memorized or have any deep insights, its just a fun time to hang out and enjoy a pint with friends you know and friends you make along the way while you share your experiences in the literary world.  If you didn’t read whatever book for the first meeting, it TOTALLY doesn’t matter because a lot of it is going to be shooting the breeze and talking about what books to read going forward.  It’s a great time and please sign up here (it’s free)!

We have our first Drag Story time (and a few other drag events too) FINALLY coming to Holliston!  If that’s not your jam that’s perfectly fine, but I’ve already been called every name in the book so leave the commentary at the door.  We’ve been doing drag story time events for years now and they are ABSOLUTELY lovely, age appropriate, super fun and colorful times and an excellent excuse to enjoy a pint while your kid listens to a performer in a dress read a kids book.  They’re awesome and we hope to see you and your little ones there!  The first one is scheduled for Sunday October 26th at 4pm (usually after nap time) and kids of all ages are welcome (as well as parents)!  This is a free event and we hope to see you there!

Looking for a more adult drag event?  Faye (our house queen btw), will be hosting Holliston’s first Drag Bingo on Saturday, November 8th!  These are SUCH an awesome time and are ticketed events, so make sure you get your tickets ahead of time here.  We are limited to 40 tickets so we will sell out!  Drag bingo IS a 21+ event.

I know it’s a big wall of text this time but a few ramblings and things we’re working on:
We did get dimmers installed inside so it is a little less super bright at night!  I know we haven’t had Holliston IPA in cans in a bit, and we’re working on it but still finding our level supplying both taprooms.  We will NEVER run out on draught (probably) so you can always pop in to either taproom to enjoy a pint!  We are also working on fire pit(s) outside for the winter (and next year all year round too) so stay tuned for news about that!  We know it can get a little loud inside the taproom so we are also working on some more soft surfaces to dull/absorb some of the sound.  Things you can’t REALLY learn until you pack the place.

Thank you all so much, stay tuned for more next time, and enjoy!
