EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2024
Under the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Water Management Act Permit to the Town of Holliston, the Holliston Water Department is mandated to impose a Water Ban every year on nonessential outdoor water use; the Water Ban is effective May 1st to September 30th.
Properties with EVEN STREET NUMBERS may water lawns on TUESDAY and THURSDAY before 9:00AM and after 5:00PM. You may also wash vehicles, wash exterior building surfaces, wash down driveways and walkways – using hand held hose with nozzle attached before 9:00AM and after 5:00PM on TUESDAY AND THURSDAY.
Properties with ODD STREET NUMBERS may water lawns on WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY before 9:00AM and after 5:00PM. You may also wash vehicles, wash exterior building surfaces, wash down driveways and walkways – using hand held hose with nozzle attached before 9:00AM and after 5:00PM on WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY.
THERE IS NO OUTDOOR WATER USAGE DURING THE HOURS OF 9:00AM AND 5:00PM. HAND HELD USE ALLOWED ON SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS and MONDAYS.
Any person who violates any provision of this by-law may be penalized by a noncriminal disposition as provided in General Laws Chapter 40, Section 21D, any person who violates any provision of this by-law shall be subject to a penalty in the amount of a warning for the first offense, one hundred dollars ($100) for the second offense, and two hundred dollars ($200) for each subsequent offense. Each day or portion thereof shall constitute a separate offense. Each condition violated shall constitute a separate offense.
