Farms Day 2023 (Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023)

Much like the rest of this summer, rain impacted the latter half of Farms Day 2023, but farm-goers adjusted accordingly with many arriving at the six participating farms promptly at 10am.

On Norfolk Street, visitors had a wonderful opportunity to get two distinctly different farm experiences with Arcadian Farm, which had live music (covered from the rain), pumpkin painting and face painting, while Happy Goats Farm offered up-close-and-personal time with their young goats – always a hit!

Boston Honey Company, on Chestnut Street, provided explanations of the honey harvesting process, and coloring books for the kiddos, a big hit. While the weather impacted plans for a cook out, their impressive facility was perfect for those looking to participate “rain or shine” in Farms Day.

August Farm, on Highland Street, had non-stop excitement for their pony rides from start to finish, adding face painting and baked goods as part of fundraising for the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA).

Outpost Farm, on Prentice Street, brought back the classics with their cider press, tractor rides, live music and more. Pictured below are my kids enjoying the pumpkin painting:

And a new addition to Farms Day, Buddy Brook Farm on Winter Street, joined the festivities with goat petting, face painting and live music. They also hosted Peas, Love and Parsley, who added an arts and crafts table for kids, in addition to their always impressive display. Below is my oldest child feeding a goat that cooperated very nicely with having its picture taken:
