Members of the Framingham Union Aid Association (FUAA) were on hand to make several donations Friday morning, May 14, at the Holliston Police Department. For a second time, FUAA presented the Holliston Police with grant funds to purchase an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). FUAA President, Melissa Ford, said, “I’d love to see an AED in each of the Holliston cruisers!” Accepting on behalf of the HPD were Sgt. Matt Waugh and Officer John Loftus.

Shortly after the presentation, SGT Waugh sent this note to Heather, Melissa, Noreen, and Leslie, “Having these new AED’s available to all our officers on the street makes a huge difference in decreasing the time a patient is on scene without advanced intervention. With the advancement of technology these devices now not only provide defibrillation to patients, but also assist officers and bystanders in the proper steps of CPR. ”
FUAA also presented a $1,000 grant check to PJ Kilkelly, who chairs the local Friends of the Community Farm. According to Kilkelly, the funds will be used to purchase a Board of Health certified portable wash station for this coming summer’s farmers’ market at Blair Square. The Friends of the Community Farm may also lend out the wash station to other local organizations. Kilkelly thanked FUAA saying, “Your hard work is appreciated by all of us.”
