Fun “Not-So-Haunted House” for Holliston’s Community Action Fund

CALLING ALL FAMILIES IN HOLLISTON – Friday October 25th at 747 Washington Street, the students of HCAF (the Holliston Community Action Fund) will open a Not-So-Haunted house from 5-8pm.

COSTUMES are encouraged!  Come show us what you will be on Halloween.  You will find games, music, fun rooms and candy in the house at the corner of Washington and Hollis streets (across from the Library).

SPONSORS: The Halloween fun house is brought to you by the HCAF and the Holliston Education Foundation (HEF).  HEF provides support to our local schools in the form of grants for innovative teaching ideas, classroom projects, teacher training, awards for teaching excellence, and support of creative ideas for student engagement.  Our school system is stronger with our extra boost from the community!

HCAF works hard to provide short term emergency financial assistance to residents requesting assistance through the town department, Holliston Youth and Family Services.  The type of assistance that has been awarded over the past year includes helping cover utility and phone bills, heating bills, car payments, Christmas gifts for needy families, insurance costs, school lunch bills, rent, mortgage, and health bills for example. High school and middle school students work with parents on the committee to raise funds and boost awareness of the need for emergency support of our residents in need, as well as working towards community betterment projects.

PROVIDING HELP – How does a resident ask for assistance?  There is a determination of need, performed by the Youth and Family Services Office of Holliston.  If you are a community member in need of emergency assistance, please contact , Allegra Denehy, LICSW,Holliston Youth and Family Services at (508) 429-0620 or at https://www.townofholliston.us/youth-and-family-services

How does HCAF do this?  Donations! In past years, HCAF has conducted direct donation campaigns that have provided thousands of dollars for Holliston Families in need. The HCAF greatly appreciates the donations of individuals, as well as generous businesses like Vesta, Fiske’s, Lamont Plumbing and the Holliston Dental Associates.  With this boost, the Holliston Community Action Fund looks forward to making a difference again this year. Donations are gratefully accepted in any amount at any time, online, at https://hollistoncommunityaction.org
