The Holliston High School grass fields complex were named after the recently retired and long time Town Public Works employee. One of Bob’s main job priorities was to take care of the grass fields including lining them. Bob was also on the Board and volunteered at the Food Pantry where he kept track of food inventory. He also volunteered at HCAT and Cycle for Life. At the 27th Holliston Cycle for Life on Oct. 5th, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation gave Bob a Volunteer Recognition Award for his many years and many hours of helping with the Fundraising event which raises money for Cystic Fibrosis Research.
A large crowd of about 100 people turned out at the High School to recognize & thank Bob for all his contributions to the Town of Holliston. Holliston Hub – HCAT was on hand to record the many speeches along with doing many interviews. The Bronze Plaque was not ready for the Presentation so organizing Committee went with the cardboard mockup. The picture attached is all the folks who spoke on behalf of Bob including Tina Hein speaking for the Town Of Holliston and James Arena-DeRosa speaking on behalf of the State House. Other speakers included Tom Chipman, Melissa Kaspern, Kelli Richardson, Kristen Hedrick, Robert Walker. Steve Bradford & John Shannahan. The event was organized and emceed by Mark Frank who is Head of Holliston Park & Rec Department.
