Gary Joseph Sencio, 80, of Holliston, Massachusetts died Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. He passed away in his home where he had been living for 54 years, surrounded by his wife and sons. Gary was the son of Joseph and Helen Sencio, and godson of John Sencio and Anne Kummer.
Gary leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Mary Elizabeth (Loughlin) Sencio and two sons: John Sencio and his wife Heidi of California, and Matthew Sencio and his wife Laura of Massachusetts. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Grace and Lila, and Helen and Luke. Gary loved his family and they adored him. His family was honored to have Gary as their patriarch.
Gary owned his own advertising agency, Sencio Burns, for many years. Gary was originally from New Britain, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School and a graduate of Boston College. He was known for being a loyal friend with a searing sense of humor. He was one-of-a-kind.
Gary had a lifelong passion for creativity, thriving on: writing, history, philosophy, church, sports, movies, and music – especially rock and roll. In his final days he said “Remember, love never dies if we never forget.” He was a man of great faith. RIP, Rock In Peace.
Respecting Gary’s final wishes, a private burial was held for his family. A public Catholic Mass in his honor will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
