John Allen Lindfelt at 100

John Allen Lindfelt, 100 years old, of Medway and New Smyrna Beach, FL,  passed away June 24, 2021. Born in Mendon, he was the husband of 50 years to the late Barbara (Binks) Lindfelt. 

John was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII. He worked in the boiler room on a troop carrier. After the service, he owned and operated Lindfelt Lumber Yard in Holliston. He was very active and always moving like the Energizer Bunny. He enjoyed time spent at his cottage in New Hampshire and traveling to Florida.  Most importantly, John was well loved by all and had a great sense of humor. 

John is survived by his son, Robert Lindfelt of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his longtime partner, Barbara Callnan of Medway and New Smyrna Beach; his grandchildren, Tracey Tarkiainen and her husband, Eric, Scott Lindfelt, Keith Lindfelt and his wife, Shelly; and his great-grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Scanlon and her husband, Garrett, Kyle Tarkiainen, and Madison and Carter Lindfelt. He is predeceased by his son, Jack Lindfelt and two siblings, Carl Lindfelt and Dorothy Lacey.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or cancer.org.
