Highlights from the YFS Newsletter “The Bubble”

“Current Happenings” in the October 2019 issue of The Bubble, Holliston’s Youth and Family Services newsletter, includes the announcement of the monthly meeting of the Parent Support Group on October 12.  This month’s meeting is an open discussion on the challenges of parenting strong-willed children.  Parents of children aged 2-12 are welcome.  To sign up for the group, led by Emily Wing, LICSW, email her at emilywinglicsw@gmail.com  (The fee is $25./person per month.)

The Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition (HDAAC) meets on Tuesday, October 8, at 6:30 PM, at the Holliston Fire Station on Central Street.  Join this group if interested in substance prevention strategies in Holliston. 

A FREE Parent Academy workshop will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 6:30 PM, at the Natick Elks, 69 Speen Street, Natick, MA.  This workshop, led by Elizabeth Driscoll Jorgensen, an expert in adolescent counseling, will include dangerous behaviors like vaping and ways to talk to your teens about making healthy choices.

A young performers’ open mic will be held the last Sunday of each month (this month: October 27) from 1-4PM at Jasper Hill Café, Millis. Singer/songwriter John McArthur hosts.  The program gives young aspiring musicians a chance to highlight their talents and build confidence as they share their music.  For more information: tps://www.jasperhillmillis
