The Holliston High School Softball defeated Bellingham on Monday May 2, 2022, by a score of 16-4 at Damigella Field in Holliston. The Panther’s win over the Blackhawks put them at a record of 6-2 in the Tri-Valley League and an overall recored of 6-3. The win ended a 2-game losing streak for the Panthers with the bats coming alive after 2 tough losses to Dedham and Attleboro last week.
Holliston’s offense surged plating 16 runs in 6 innings as the game was called due to run rule in the bottom of the 6th. Holliston accomplished this with 2 of their starters, Lucy Maurao and Amelia Harris arriving late due to AP testing really showing the depth of their team.
The Panthers had production throughout the lineup with Sydney Miccile hitting 2 triples and driving in 4 runs along with Phoebe Drohan driving in 4 runs and hitting a 3-run HR.
Also having multiple hit games were seniors Jordyn Kuharich and Lauren Kampersal along with junior outfielder Josey Quinn. Holliston also had solid performances from junior catcher Emily Guarino, Adelaide Bearer and Lucy Svirsky.
Once again Holliston put their confidence in their all-star junior pitcher Emma Wood who threw 6 solid innings striking out 8 and giving up only 4 hits. Wood’s strong comeback from last week was much needed and indicative of her outstanding season thus far. Earlier this year she tossed a perfect game against Westwood.
In his 4th season, head coach Don Quindley has felt that this team has what it takes to really go deep into the post season as they have been competitive in every game and have come from behind on several occasions.
Holliston’s next game was Wednesday 4 May at Norton High school.
