Holliston Lions Serve Mission Springs Seniors

Holliston Reporter

The Holliston Lions Club is committed to serving the residents of Holliston. After the pandemic scare was minimized, the Lions Club began serving lunches for Seniors and Veterans at the Holliston Senior Center. While the attendance was not stellar, those who were able to attend enjoyed a meal and were able to socialize with other local seniors and Veterans.

In order to reach more people, the Senior and Veteran’s Luncheon committee decided to attempt something a bit different. Rather than focus their efforts entirely on serving lunch at the Holliston Senor Center, during the 2023 – 2024 Lions’ year they would “mix it up a bit”.

Beginning in September, the Holliston Lions decided to serve lunch at three locations, Mission Springs, Cole Court, and the Holliston Senior Center. On September 17, 2023 the Holliston Lions & Leos served lunch to nearly 50 seniors at Mission Springs.

Thanks to some incredible teamwork, seniors were served a hearty lunch of salad, pasta, and meatballs. Desserts were picked up by Steve Apesos – they were generously donated by Panera Bread. Steve Hedrick was also on hand to help out.

Members and friends of the Holliston Leo Club served lunch, helped with cleanup and engaged in conversation with the seniors who joined us for lunch.

The Holliston Lions & Leos are looking forward to the October 22nd luncheon at Cole Court.
