From Lieutenant George Leurini
LT Leurini added that, “We were very fortunate this year to be awarded the Pedestrian and Bicycle safety grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS). This grant provides additional funding for an officer to be assigned to traffic enforcement to improve traffic safety within our community for pedestrians and bicyclists.”
*Traffic stops in the past two months have increased thanks, in part, to the grant. The top three causes for stops have been: c90s13B (using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle), followed by c90s18 (speed), and c90s20 (expired/rejected inspection sticker).
