Jean B. Cella, 91, recently of Hingham and formerly of Holliston, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Pensalfini) and Frank Demma. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Cella.
Jean was a lifelong learner; receiving an associate degree from Becker Junior College; an undergraduate degree and a Master of Education from Boston University; and her Paralegal Certificate. She was an educator for many years at Aquinas Junior College, touching and changing many lives. She loved to travel and never turned down an opportunity to experience other cultures, and this adventurous spirit made her perpetually young. She will be remembered for her curiosity, her kindness, her humor, and her intellect.
Family was always at the heart of everything she did, and Jean enjoyed times of togetherness with a family that adored her. She took great pleasure in all her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. She loved music, especially opera, and she loved to paint and draw, and many friendships were made and nurtured in these pursuits.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Cella, and her husband, Kevin Leese; and Beth A. MacNeill, and her husband, Todd. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Andreas Cella; Liam, Chace, and Brody MacNeill; Sadie Leese; and daughter-in-law, Melanie Cella. Missing and never forgotten are her husband, Albert, and her son, Mark J. Cella.
