John Johnson Remembered

Commemoration ceremonies were held today by the Holliston Police Department, relatives, friends, and residents to honor Officer John Johnson. The flag was lowered to half staff as Taps was played.

A moment of silence was then requested by Chief John Moore.

Chief Moore read a prayer written by Carl Damigella for the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Officer Johnson’s death:

Amen

Also attending services today were retired officers from the Holliston Police Department and members of the Holliston Fire Department as Johnson was also a volunteer fireman assigned to Engine One. Officers from the Ashland and Sherborn police departments were also present.

Lieutenant Keith Edison served with Officer Johnson and spoke of the impact that his death had on his family and friends. He challenged the force to stay close to Johnson’s family so that they too could feel that they had lost a family member. This would ensure that Officer Johnson would never be forgotten.
