The Morning Book Club at the Holliston Library will discuss James Baldwin’s classic, Go Tell It on the Mountain on Monday, June 6 at 11 am and the Mystery Book Club will discuss Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell on Tuesday, June14 at 11 am. The History Book Club meets on Monday, June 27 at 10:30 am to discuss Stalingrad: The Fateful Seige by Anthony Beevor. All three groups offer both in-person and virtual attendance simultaneously and welcome new members. Register online to receive a Zoom invitation.
Oscar nominated film Belfast will be the selected film for Movie Mondays on Monday, June 13 at 12:30 pm. The film was nominated for multiple Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor. The director is Kenneth Branagh and the film is to be viewed in person at the library.
Holliston residents are reminded that the library has discounted passes to local museums, attractions and parks. Venues include the Science Museum, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the New England Aquarium, the Ecoterium, the Tower Hill Botanical Garden as well as Mass State Parks. The library offers multiple streaming services for films and television series. Kanopy is available to Holliston residents and includes mainstream, independent and documentary films. The service also has a children’s collection and access to the Great Courses, college-level courses for adult learning. Hoopla has films and TV series and is available to anyone with a Holliston Library card. The library also circulates Roku and Amazon Fire Sticks which include access to HBO Max, Apple TV, Netflix, Acorn, Hulu and Disney Plus.
