Local Company Teams up with Holliston Lions Club

Nothing happens in a vacuum. Without the support of our community partners, the Holliston Lions Club would be unable to continue the several projects they do annually. One of these projects is the downtown Holiday Lighting Program. Steve Apesos, this year’s chairperson teamed up with Ahronian Landscaping recently to replace a tree in Blair Square.

This tree planting was approved by the select board, Walter McGrath of the Veterans, Kevin Conley of Blair square committee and Holliston’s Facilities Director James Keast. This tree takes the place of the original tree donated to the town by former state rep. Carolyn Dykema intended to represent Carolyn’s environmental leadership award given to her by the Massachusetts Nursery & Landscape association. There will be a rededication  of Carolyn’s new tree to the town of Holliston at the Celebrate Holliston Holiday Stroll tree lighting ceremony . The tree lighting is handled by the Lions Club and many of our local partners. Anyone who wishes to be a Lions Club sponsor for this event and numerous other events is encouraged to check out our Sponsorship Opportunities. We are eternally grateful to all of our community partners.

Carolyn’s tree at Blair square will be the first tree to be lit up right after the rededication. Celebrate Holliston committee has many events going  on that day for all to enjoy. The Holliston Lions paid for the new tree. Ahronian Landscaping donated machinery, labor, soil, and bark mulch. Enjoy the holiday spirit !!
