Lorraine Palmer

Lorraine Palmer, 75, of Millis, and a former longtime resident of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Olga (Gerencser) and Francis Proto. She was the wife of almost 56 years to Stephen Palmer.

Lorraine’s greatest achievement in life was her family. She was strong willed, positive, and faced her health struggles with determination and courage. She was a fighter and much tougher than she looked. She loved the sunny beach (especially Cape Cod), and always enjoyed being outside gardening. Lorraine was very religious, loved to read, but her greatest joy was spending time with people. She was always outgoing and sociable.

Lorraine was a devoted member of Holliston’s St. Mary’s Church and its Wings group; she was also a former member of the Holliston Gardening Club.

In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Cheryl English and her husband, Shane, of Marlborough, and Leanna Lowry and her husband, Scott, of Watertown, NY. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda SanFilippo, and her husband, Jim, of Toms River, NJ; four grandchildren, Alec, Zach, Miles, and Olivia Lowry, and her grand-dog, Henley.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston, 8 Church Street. Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 17th, at 11:00 a.m. in a private ceremony at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, 162 Webster Street.
