The Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) has presented the  2026 John F. Conway Distinguished Service Award to Keith Buday, retired Assistant  Superintendent for Finance and Operations in the Holliston Public Schools. Mr. Buday  received the award at the association’s 60th Annual Institute in Falmouth.

The award recognizes the accomplishments of a MASBO member who has enhanced  the effectiveness of their school district in fulfilling its educational mission. This award is  sponsored this year by KenMark / Visual Edge IT. It includes a $1,500 contribution to  the district in honor of the recipient.

David Jordan, the current Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations in the  Holliston Public Schools, nominated Mr. Buday, commending his 24 years of service to  the school district and stating that “Keith has always put students and learning at the  front of all of his decisions and actions.”

In his nomination, Mr. Jordan described Mr. Buday’s record of successfully advocating  for school funding, managing difficult budgets during economic downturns, overseeing  facilities renovations, and ensuring the safe reopening of schools during the pandemic,  among other accomplishments.

In presenting the award, MASBO Executive Director Margaret Driscoll said about Mr.  Buday, “Known as both tough and fair, a trusted partner in negotiations, and a steady  resource for colleagues, Keith has built a legacy of trust and respect. Even as his full time work tapers off, that commitment continues through mentorship and guidance.”
