Marie Florence Grassey, 97, of Raynham and formerly of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Bonanno) and George Cannariato. She was the beloved wife for 47 years of the late Francis T. Grassey.
Marie was a wonderful cook and especially loved baking for her family. She also enjoyed reading and treasured the time she spent with those she loved most.
She is survived by her two children, Gail Rice and her husband, Francis, of Wareham, and George Grassey and his partner, Courtney, of Hopedale. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan Grassey of Halifax. Marie leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Grassey, her daughter-in-law, Kathryn Grassey, and her sister, Vinnie Gage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14th, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington Street. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston.
