At approximately 7:29 am Tuesday morning a multi-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Highland and Prentice Streets. The resulting detours had traffic backed up from downtown, westward on Washington almost to the Milford line.
One victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. MedFlight airlifted another victim to UMass Medical in Worcester.
Holliston Police advise motorists to avoid the area as much as possible while the investigation continues.

I went through that intersection turning left off prentice onto Highland. The traffic comes to fast down Highland and then the Hollis St. traffic also spends out. I almost got crushed by the left and the right when I made the left turn onto Hihgland. Isn’t the speed limit 20 or 25 miles coming towards Hollis and Prentice? I never saw so much traffic on Highland. I think the traffic is cutting off the 126 contruction Ashland. Very concerning, I hope this drive will live.
You’re right Pam, it’s a dangerous intersection and you really need to pay attention when turning left onto Highland Street. People drive too fast and some aren’t using their directional signals. It should be studied for possible changes before someone gets killed.
Lee and Pam – The Select Board recently heard a report on the traffic study completed by McMahon and Assoc. Here is the link to HR’s coverage of the Board’s May 16th meeting https://hollistonreporter.com/2022/05/select-board-receives-two-engineering-reports/ The Board referred the report to the Traffic Advisory Committee for recommended actions to improve traffic flow / safety in the area of the two recent accidents.
