New Development to Include Some Affordable Housing

Holliston Reporter

Recently we met with Peter Conant (below), a developer who has received approval to build sixteen single family units in a development called “Village on the Green.”

Conant, a registered architect, shared his plans for this condominium community that begins construction this spring.  Early in our conversation he pointed out that four of the units will be priced as affordable homes.  He expects the affordable units to cost about $290,000. The remainder of the units will be sold at market value.

He purchased 13 acres along Washington Street (below) in East Holliston.  Approximately 2.5 acres will be built up with the remainder staying as conservation land.  He pointed out that the land was the Holliston Poor Farm at one time.

The single-family homes will average 1,700 square feet of living space. Each home will have a garage and some will have walkout basements.  Below is a rendering of how the sixteen units will be placed on the property with a central green.  There will be four different floor plans offered.

While the project begins this year, Conant expects the entire build out to take 2 – 2 ½ years.  Scott Heavner, a Holliston resident, will be the onsite construction manager.  Below, a rendering of what the view from the green might look like.  Mr. Conant was excited to share that this community is not age-restricted.  He envisions a multi-generation neighborhood.

The Holliston Reporter became aware of this project when Rachelle Finn, the firm’s marketing person sent the thank you that appears below.
