The College of the Holy Cross congratulates the new Crusaders starting at the College in Fall 2025. The following local students will be part of the Class of 2029:
Jessica Jacob of Holliston (01746)
Paget O’Brien of Holliston (01746)
Veronika Stasevich of Holliston (01746)
At 837 students, the Class of 2029 includes students from 39 U.S. states and territories and 15 different countries. This incoming class represents one of the most academically accomplished classes in the College’s history.
Admission to the class of 2029 was more competitive than ever with applications surpassing 10,000 for the first time in Holy Cross history, a nearly 20% increase over the last two years, and an admit rate of 19%.
The new Crusaders have distinguished themselves through community service, leadership roles, and diverse participation in areas like the arts, music and athletics. They arrived on campus and moved into the residence halls on Wednesday, August 20th, where they were welcomed to Mount St. James by an enthusiastic purple crew of current students, staff, faculty and alumni. Fall classes began on Tuesday, August 26th.
“Welcome, Class of 2029!” College President Vincent D. Rougeau told the class during Mass of the Holy Spirit. “I encourage you to embrace this new experience. Lean into the growth it can offer. You are not doing this alone. Look around. Some of the people you will meet in the next few days and months will be your friends for life.
“One of the great things about my job is seeing close friends who met here five, 25, or even 50 years ago return to campus. Connecting with a professor, walking the historic halls of Fenwick or dining in Kimball erases the passage of time. They’re flooded with a wave of memories from some of the best moments in their life. For you, making those memories begins today.”
